I have a love for the sport of cycling, so I would love to get a job within the cycling industry. Specialized is one of the biggest cycling companies in the world and I would love to be an economist for them.

My mother was born in Indiana and moved to Texas in her teens. My father was born in Florida and after about 6 years of living there he moved to Texas. Both of my parents attended Texas State, however only my mother graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. My parents now live in my hometown of San Marcos, Texas.

I grew up around Belton for 10 years before moving to Azle, Texas, which is just outside of Fort Worth. My mom and dad both graduated from UMHB in 1993 and 1995. My aunt and uncle graduated from here as well. My dad is a pastor of a Baptist Church in Azle. My mom is a teacher in the Springtown ISD and is now getting her Master’s degree at UT Tyler. I have a younger brother who is in 7th grade and a goldendoodle named Bella.

Peggy Albin

Peggy Albin graduated in 1958 with a BS in Home Economics. She received her MS in Related Arts from the University of Wisconsin. Peggy is married to Lawton Albin. Peggy's favorite UMHB tradition is singing Up with the Purple because it was so special to be able to sing it after achieving the status of senior during her student years. Peggy currently serves as a retired teacher and Associate Professor at the University of Texas in Austin.

Betty Anderson

Betty Anderson graduated in 1964 with a BA in English, Spanish and Education. After UMHB she received her MS in Education from Baylor University. Betty and her husband, Marcus HA and Campus Boy 1960-1963, are parents to Lee Chandler and Jana D'Lynn. Betty's favorite UMHB traditions are Charter Day and Easter Pageant. Betty is a retired teacher.

Mark Arrazola

Mark Arrazola graduated in 2005 with a BA in Communication. He and his wife, Robyn '04, are parents to Phoenix and Jubilee Arrazola. Mark's favorite UMHB tradition is Welcome Week because its impact on students to get them plugged in to the university. He also loves Midnight March because of the recognition and honor we give to the individuals who have gone before us. Mark currently serves as the President and CEO of the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Leslie Ayuko

Leslie Ayuko graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance. Leslie and her husband, Billy, are parents to Liam Ayuko. Leslie's favorite UMHB tradition is Easter Pageant because it combines the Gospel, outreach, UMHB reunions, performing arts and shows student leadership. It is a wonderful representation of UMHB as a whole. Leslie currently serves as a Minister of Worship, Missions and Outreach at First Baptist Church of Cleburne.

Taylor Barnard

Taylor Barnard graduated in 2013 with a BBA in Finance and Accounting and received his MBA in Accounting in 2014. Taylor and his wife, Allison '14, are parents to Landry Paige, who is due in July. Taylor' favorite UMHB tradition is Crusader Knights because the relationships that were developed and strengthened during the time that he was in Cru Knights. There is a sense of brotherhood that can only be formed by making a fool of yourself. Taylor currently serves as a Financial Planner at 49 Financial.

Kristin Bate

Kristin Bate graduated in 2006 with a BS in Psychology and minor in Sociology. Kristin and her husband, John '08, '16, are parents to Ethan and Owen Bate. Kristin's favorite UMHB tradition is Welcome Week because it plants students firmly in the traditions of the university and is where lifelong friends are made. Kristin currently serves as a teacher.

Kristin Burks

Kristin Burks graduated in 2007 with a BA in Psychology. She received her MS in Counseling in 2015. Kristin and her husband, Brent '04, '05 and '14, are parents to Perry, 4, Pearson, 3 and Palmer, who is due in September. Kristin's favorite UMHB memory is Easter Pageant because it meant so much to her as a student and even more as a mother. She enjoys taking the time to remember what Christ did for her and to experience that with her family. Kristin currently serves as a License Professional Counselor at UMHB's Counseling Center.

John Cawthon

John Cawthon graduated in 2009 with a degree in Nursing. John and his wife, Layne, are parents to Charlie, 11 months. John's favorite UMHB tradition is Easter Pageant, because it is an amazing tradition that has brought Christ's story to the community and university. John currently serves as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. 

Cristal Conner

Cristal Conner graduated in 2015 with her Bachelor's in Music Education. Cristal's favorite UMHB tradition is Easter Pageant because it's powerful being involved in the re-enactment of the life of Christ. It changes her life every time she experiences it. Cristal currently serves as a Choir Director at Ranier Middle School in Killeen.

Dave Covington

Dave Convington graduated in 2007 with a BA in Christian Studies. Dave and his wife, Stephanie '07, are parents to Levi and Andy. Dave's favorite UMHB tradition is winning at sports. Dave currently serves as a Real Estate Broker for Covington Real Estate in Belton.

Lindsey Deringer

Lindsey Deringer graduated in 2008 with a degree in Elementary Eduation. Lindsey and her husband, Stephen '06, are parents to Ruthie, 3, and Laurel, 1. Lindsey's favorite UMHB tradition is Miss MHB because it is a great way for women to grow in confidence and learn about themselves. It is an amazing opportunity to make lifelong friends and have fun. Lindsey currently serves as a stay-at-home mom.

Khang Duong

Khang Duong graduated in 2009 with a BBA in Marketing and an MBA in International Business in 2015. Khang and his wife, Cara '12, are parents to Everett Minh and Evelyn Cara. Khang's favorite UMHB tradition is Stunt Night because he loved getting together with his class competing against other classes. Khang currently serves as a Production Coordinator at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation.

Landra Garza

Young Alumni Board President

Landra Garza graduated in 2012 with a degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations. Landra and her husband, Randy '13, are parents to Chandler Jane and Brynlee Rose, who is due this fall. Landra's favorite UMHB tradition is Miss MHB, because she made lifelong friends through her experiences as a contestant and director role. She grew in learning more about herself and worth in God's eyes. Landra currently serves as a stay-at-home mom and homemaker.

Randy Garza

Randy Garza graduted in 2013 with a double major in Marketing and Public Relations. Randy and his wife, Landra '12, are parents to Chandler Jane and are expecting Brynlee Rose in the fall. Randy's favorite UMHB tradition is the Dubbing Ceremony during Welcome Week. It is meaningful because after attending serveral universities, he was never able to call one home. After being dubbed a crusader, he felt at home and became a part of the UMHB family. Randy currently serves as a Sales Representative.

Diane Gryseels

Diane Gryseels graduated in 1966 with a double BA in Sociology and Biology. She received her MS in Social Work from Our lady of the Lake University. Diane is mother to Loibeth King, Binh Nguyenm, Haylee, Fran and Karina Powell. Diane's favorite UMHB traditions are Charter Day and Easter Pageant, because it celebrates UMHB's history and time with friends and grows her spiritually by experiencing Jesus' life, death and resurrection. Diane is currently an Individual and Family Therapist Social Worker.

Jonathan Hanson

Jonathan Hanson graduated in 2014 with a BS in Criminal Justice an Exercise Physiology. Jonathan's favorite UMHB tradition is Crusader Knights because it is a really great time for fellowship and bonding between a group of guys. As a contestant during his freshman year, it was a great way for him to meet new people who he came to know during his time at UMHB. Jonathan currently serves as a Course Credit Evaluator for UMHB.

Laura Hargrove

Laura Hargrove graduated in 2002 with a BS in Biology. She received her MS in Medical Sciences from Texas A&M Healthy Science Center. Laura is married to Bob, '08. Laura's favorite UMHB tradition are our football games. She always sits with her mom, Debbie '02, because she is the loudest fun. She loves the comradery with all the fans, wearing her purple and gold and the memories she makes with her mom. Laura currently serves as a Research Specialist II at the Texas A&M Health Science Center and as an Adjunct Professor of Biology at UMHB. 

Justin Lenamon

Justin Lenamon graduated in 2005 with a BA in Christian Studies. Justin and his wife, Julie '07, are parents to Josie and Judah. Justin's favorite memory is Miss MHB, because his wife won during her time at UMHB. Justin currently serves in full-time ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Atheletes in Austin, Texas.

Morgan Lewing, EdD

Morgan Lewing graduated in 2009 with a BS in Excercise and Sport Science, MS Ed in Excercise and Sport Science in 2010 and Ed. D, in Leadership in Higher Education Administration in 2014. Morgan is married to Abby Lewing. Morgan's favorite UMHB tradition is Easter Pageant because it represents the faith foundation that makes UMHB special. Morgan currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M Central Texas.

Alec Lloyd

Alec Lloyd graduated in 2015 with a degree in Business Management. Alec's favorite UMHB tradition is Crusader Kngihts, because it was a great opportunity for him to build lifelong friendships and grow with the other contestants and directors. Alec currently serves as the High School Associate Pastor at Woodridge Baptist Church.

Nathan Loudin

Nathan Loudin graduated in 2006 with a degree in Psychology. He receieved his MA from Dallas Theological Seminary and is currently pursing a Masters of Divinity at Southern Baptist Thological Seminary. Nathan and his wife, Colette '06, are parents to Jaya, Jonah, Judah and Jayne. Nathan's favorite UMHB tradition is Welcome Week because she is appreciative of the churches gathering to welcome students to Belton. Having a local church through college is so important, and of course he is always ready to sing Up with the Purple. Nathan currently serves as a Pastor in Austin, Texas.

Cindy MacDonald

Cindy MacDonald graduated in 2016 with a BA in EC-4 Generalist Education. Cindy's favorite UMHB tradition is Easter Pageant, because it reminds her of God's love and faitherfulness to His people and Jesus' sacrifice for us. Cindy currently serves as a High School Librarian.

Sandra Mattson

Alumni Board President

Sandra Mattson graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor's of Music Education. She received her Master of Education Administration in 2016. Sandra and her husband, Robert '08, are parents to Thomas (T.J.) and Elizabeth Mattson. Sandra's favorite UMHB tradition is any event. She loves coming back to campus because UMHB is a lovely, warm and inviting place. She loves sharing her heart for UMHB with her friends and meeting current students. Sandra currently serves as a choir teacher at Killeen High School.

Carolyn Owens

Carolyn Owens graduated in 1961 with a BS in Education. She then received her MS in Education. Carolyn and her husband, Riley, a Campus Boy 1959-1961, are parents to Dr. Kerry Owens and Kent Owens. Carolyn's favorite UMHB tradition is singning before lunch on Sundays in Hardy Hall, because it was a happy time when all the students were together. Carolyn is a retired professor of Education at UMHB. 

Erin Prica

Erin Prica graduated in 2015 with a degree in EC-6 Education. Erin's favorite UMHB tradition is Welcome Week, because it is a wonderful experience for incoming freshman to get introduced to UMHB traditions, meet lifelong friends and get involved on campus. Erin currently serves as a 3rd grade teacher at Lakewood Elementary School in Belton.

Angie Rushing

Angie Rushing graduated in 2013 with a degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations. Angie's favorite UMHB tradition is Welcome Week, because of how it sets the tone for new student's experiences and focuses on welcoming them into the UMHB family. Angie currently serves as a Portrait and Wedding Photographer.

Lisa Scott

Lisa Scott graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in Music. Lisa and her husband, Shane '93, are parents to Grace, a current student, and Ethan, 12. Lisa's favorite UMHB tradition is Homecoming because her husband proposed to her the day after Homecoming and it's good to see old friends. She also loves the Circle of Songs. Lisa currently serves as a teacher.

Jacqueline Styne

Jacqueline Styne graduated in 2012 with a BA in English. Jacqueline is married to Beau Styne '12. Jacqueline's favorite UMHB tradition is Miss MHB because it is a great opportunity for women to come together in authentic community, to discover and devleop the gifts God has given them. Jacqueline currently serves as a Recruiter for Accounting and Finance at a recruiting firm in Dallas, Texas.

Elizabeth Tanaka, EdD

Elizabeth Tanaka, EdD graduated in 2014 with her Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from UMHB. She studied at Southwestern University, receiving her BA with Honors in 1988 and her MS from the University of North Texas in 1990. Elizabeth and her husband, Shozo, are parents to Jeb Tanaka. Elizabeth's favorite UMHB tradition is Easter Pageant, because it shows the unbelievable love of God to so many people. Elizabeth currently serves as the Director of Internation Student Services at UMHB.

Ben Taylor

Ben Taylor graduated in 2013 with a BBA in Marketing. Ben and his wife, Kelsey '12, are parents to Trent and are expecting their second child in August. Ben's favorite UMHB tradition is the Pancake Supper, because not only is breakfast food needed at all times, it is a wonderful representation of the relationship between students and faculty/staff at UMHB. Ben currently serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions at UMHB.

Coley Taylor

Coley Taylor graduated in 2012 with a BS in Computer Graphic Design. Coley and his wife, Miranda '12, are parents to Caleb and Carly Taylor. Coley's favorite UMHB tradition is Easter Pageant because every year he feels that through this tradition, he is able to be a small part in sharing the Gospel with his community. Coley currently serves as the Director of Media at the Vista Community Church in Belton, Texas.

Rebekah TePoel

Rebekah TePoel graduated in 2014 with a BS in Nursing. Rebekah is married to Dylan TePoel '15. Rebekah's favorite UMHB tradition is Welcome Week because it is one of the best weeks at UMHB. She felt so loved and welcomed and met some of her best friends during that time. Rebekah currently serves as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.

Trish Woods

Trish Woods graduated in 2003 with a BBA in Marketing and received her Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Tarleton. Trish and her husband, Terrance '99, are parents to Tate, 9 and Timothy, 5. Trish's favorite UMHB tradition is Midnight March because of the significance of the event. She also loves the Dubbing Ceremony that happens during Welcome Week. Trish currently serves as the Recruiting Manager at UMHB.
