Matthew Sommerfield '07 completed the PGA, PGM Golf Managaement program and was eleced to PGA of America membership on Mar. 28. He is employed as the head golf professional at Sugar Tree Golf Club in Lipan.

Amy Edwards Draeger ’97 was honored as Teacher of the Year at Benold Middle School in Georgetown, where she teaches sixth grade science.

Tom Kennedy ’85 was ordained for the ministry on Feb. 16, at New Life Baptist Church, Florissant, MO. He and his wife, Donna Reynolds Kennedy ’85, have been serving at New Life since Feb. 2006. Donna is the worship leader and ministry assistant, and was commissioned during the same evening.

Kenneth Driska '94 and his wife, Alushka, celebrataed 10 years of marriage on March. 13/ They both work in cameron ISD where Kenny is the C.H.Yoe High School principal, and Alushka teaches first grade. They have a 9 year-old daughter, Ainsley, and a 6 year-old son, Kelton. They live in Burlington.

Chris Nagel '94 was selected as a VITAS BEST (Building Excellence, Satisfaction and Teamwork) Award winner for 2013. Chris has served as a CBF-endorsed chaplain with VITAS Innovative Hospice Care in Houston since 2008.

Class Note: Donna Hoelscher State ‘80

  Donna Hoelscher Staten ’80 was selected as one of five teachers from across the country to participate in a roundtable meeting with Melinda Gates and other team members from the Gates Foundation. Donna was invited to share how she uses Pinterest in her classroom daily. She has spoken about Pinterest in the Classroom at several conferences and will present at the 2014 National Art Education Association in San Diego. Donna currently teaches K-5 art in Round Rock ISD.
